Job Description
The selected candidate for the project research scientist job under NII Careers 2026 will work collaboratively between NII and AIIMS, New Delhi. The primary focus will be on studying the effect of Montelukast in reducing dengue severity. Responsibilities include examining the immune profile, immune cell phenotyping, measuring T cells specific to the Dengue virus, antibody quantitation, and serum-cytokine levels. Most work will involve PBMCs and serum collected from study participants at multiple time points. Candidates should possess a solid understanding of cellular immunology and skills in clinical research.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on the immune response in dengue patients.
- Perform laboratory techniques including Flow Cytometry, blood processing, and PBMC isolation.
- Handle and culture PBMCs, conduct ELISA, and virus serotyping.
- Utilise Real-Time PCR and bioinformatics tools for data analysis.
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to project reports.
- Maintain accurate records of experiments and results.
- Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Assist in training junior researchers and interns.
Eligibility Criteria
- PhD in any area of Life Sciences or a Master’s degree with a minimum of three years of experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates with first-author publications in reputed journals.
- Hands-on experience in clinical immunology research of infectious diseases is preferred.
