1. Technical Expert Grade 2 & Grade 1 – Pharma
Key Responsibilities
- Review and technically appraise R&D applications for TC/PAAC.
- Assess scientific merit, novelty, feasibility, risks and PRIP alignment.
- Check regulatory, clinical, ethical and quality compliance.
- Review project plans, budgets, milestones and progress reports.
- Conduct site/virtual reviews and maintain audit-ready documentation.
- Coordinate with PMA, NIPERs, TC and empanelled experts.
Qualifications and Experience
Position Qualification Experience Grade 2 – Pharma B.Pharm/BSc/BTech in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology, Biotech or related field
Skills Needed

- CDSCO and NDCT Rules, 2019
- GMP/QMS and ethics requirements

Desirable
M.Pharm, MSc, MTech, MS, MD or PhD, along with experience in R&D funding programmes, grant reviews, SOP drafting and patent searches.
2. Technical Expert Grade 2 – MedTech
Key Responsibilities
- Review and technically appraise MedTech applications.
- Assess clinical need, novelty, feasibility and project risks.
- Check regulatory, quality and design-control compliance.
- Review manufacturing readiness, costs and validation plans.
- Monitor project progress and conduct site/virtual visits.
- Address medical device and IVD-related technical queries.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualification Experience B.E./B.Tech in Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Instrumentation or related field8–15 years in medical device/IVD R&D
Skills Needed
- Medical Devices Rules, 2017
- ISO 13485 and ISO 14971
- Clinical and performance evaluation
- Software as a Medical Device
- Biocompatibility and sterilisation
- Technical File, Design Dossier, DHF and DMR review
Desirable
Master’s degree in Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Instrumentation or a related field. MD/MS candidates with clinical engineering exposure are also acceptable.
3. Technical Expert Grade 1 – MedTech/IT
Key Responsibilities
- Appraise MedTech and medical device proposals.
- Review regulatory, quality and design-control requirements.
- Assess milestones, budgets and manufacturing readiness.
- Monitor project progress and maintain documentation.
- Coordinate with experts and programme stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualification Experience B.E./B.Tech in Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, IT, Computer Science, Instrumentation or related field3–8 years in medical device/IVD R&D

4. Young Professional – Technical

- Assist in technical appraisal of project proposals.
- Analyse scientific merit, feasibility and risks.
- Review project milestones, budgets and progress reports.
- Support site/virtual visits and project monitoring.
- Coordinate with NIPERs, experts and other stakeholders.
- Maintain SOPs, MIS data and audit-ready documentation.
