Job Description

The Junior Research Fellow (JRF) will be responsible for conducting research aimed at optimising fermentation processes. The selected candidate will work closely with the Systems Biology for Biofuel Group at ICGEB, focusing on maximising VFA production from various waste materials. This position requires a solid foundation in life sciences and a passion for research, particularly in the fields of biotechnology and environmental sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct experiments to optimise fermentation parameters.
  • Analyse data related to VFA production.
  • Collaborate with team members on research projects.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on research findings.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Assist in the training of junior staff and students.
  • Participate in project meetings and discussions.
  • Contribute to scientific publications and grant proposals.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must have an M.Sc. in Life Sciences/Biotechnology or equivalent.
  • Preference for candidates who have cleared the DBT/CSIR JRF exam.
  • Prior experience in anaerobic culturing and Omics analyses is preferred.
