Job Description

The Product Stewardship Specialist role is essential for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements within Thermo Fisher Scientific. This position involves determining, implementing, and monitoring product stewardship programs. The selected candidate will provide support to the Global Product Stewardship team, ensuring that systems and procedures are in place for compliance tracking of raw materials and finished products.

The responsibilities include acting as a Hazard Communication Expert, ensuring compliance with various regulations such as GHS, DG, TSCA, OSHA, EPA, EU REACH, and ECHA. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to execute product stewardship initiatives effectively. The candidate will also conduct audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine, implement, and monitor product stewardship programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide support to the Global Product Stewardship team by implementing systems and procedures.
  • Act as a Hazard Communication Expert responsible for material introduction, classifications, and labeling.
  • Ensure completion of regulatory and risk management assessments for compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Authorize the SDS and Labels for Hazard classification using UL WERCs.
  • Interact with global customers and suppliers to support hazard communication and regulatory compliance needs.
  • Develop expertise in relation to regulations by maintaining current knowledge of laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure flawless execution of product stewardship initiatives.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Master of Science degree in Chemistry or other life sciences.
  • 3-5 years of experience in hazard communication and chemical hazard assessment.
  • Good knowledge of current hazard communication requirements and global chemical regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of Prop 65, OSHA, EMS, and ISO guidelines.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong systems background in product lifecycle management.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
