Essential Qualification
  • Master’s degree in Zoology, Wildlife Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences, Genetics, Genomics or related discipline + 3 years experience

OR

  • PhD in Life Sciences with relevant experience
Desirable Qualification
  • Experience in zoonotic disease surveillance/infectious disease diagnostics
  • DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, RT-PCR, sequencing
  • Experience with NGS & Oxford Nanopore Technology (ONT)
  • Bioinformatics tools (QIIME, Geneious, MEGA, R, Python)
  • Three SCI-indexed publications
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field sampling and laboratory investigations
  • Perform DNA extraction, PCR, RT-PCR and NGS/ONT workflows
  • Analyse genomic and metagenomic data
  • Develop molecular diagnostic assays
  • Prepare reports and scientific publications
  • Coordinate collaborations and technical workshops

Desirable Qualification
  • Experience in zoonotic disease surveillance
  • DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, RT-PCR, Sanger sequencing
  • Hands-on experience with NGS/ONT
  • Molecular diagnostics, epidemiology, laboratory quality management, scientific reporting
  • Government-funded One Health project experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate field sample collection
  • Perform PCR, RT-PCR and sequencing

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Assist in routine laboratory work

  • Assist in transport and storage of biological samples
