The Associate or Senior Editor will play a pivotal role in managing the editorial process, including manuscript selection and peer review, while engaging with the global scientific community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Critically evaluate research manuscripts and make initial editorial decisions.
  • Select and engage with peer reviewers, interpreting their advice for editorial decisions.
  • Assist authors in addressing reviewers’ feedback and streamline the revision process.
  • Ensure compliance with professional and ethical practices among stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to develop and execute the journal’s strategic plan.
  • Make timely decisions on manuscripts and adhere to internal deadlines.

Eligibility Criteria

  • PhD in cancer research, oncology, or biomedical research with postdoctoral experience in cancer research.
  • Broad interest and in-depth knowledge of cancer research.
  • Ability to critically evaluate relevant research.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Strong skills in scientific and academic writing.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and engage with the scientific community.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills

  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
  • Basic understanding of publishing workflows and systems.
  • Experience in bioinformatics is a plus.
  • Prior editorial experience may be considered for a Senior Editor position.
