Post I

Name of Job: Research Associate (One Position)

Name of the Project: CaRes NER-A Multidisciplinary Research Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer in the North Eastern States in India’ at NCDIR, Bengaluru. (Up to 30-9-2021)

Consolidated Salary Per Month: Rs. 46,800/-

Upper Age Limit: 40 Years (In case of women candidates the upper age is relaxed by two years)

Essential Qualifications: PhD in Statistics/ Biostatistics/ Epidemiology/ Public Health with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexes (SCI) journal.

Desirable Qualifications: Post Graduate Qualification in Epidemiology or Public Health (MAE/MPH/ M.Sc/ PhD etc) or 2 years’ experience in NCD epidemiology/ health systems/ data science translational research/ public health programmes after essential qualifications.

Job Description: To develop programmes for research and training, plan & undertake research on different aspects of research projects on the non-communicable disease, to provide assistance in conducting research work related to the project or as assigned from time to time. Preparation of reports and policy briefs.

Name of Job: Scientist C (Non-Medical) (One Position)

Name of the Project: Implementation of NCDlR Electronic Mortality Software (NCDlR-eMOR) – Strengthen Medical Certification of Cause of Death at NCDIR, Bengaluru. (Up to 30-11-2023)

Consolidated Salary Per Month: Rs. 57,660/-

Upper Age Limit: 40 Years

Essential Qualifications: 1st class Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Biostatistics from a recognized university with 4 years’ experience.
OR
Ph.D in Statistics/ Biostatistics/ Epidemiology/ Public Health with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexes (SCI) journal.

Desirable Qualifications: (i)Doctorate degree in Statistics/ Bio­Statistics from a recognized University for candidates with Ist class relevant degree. (ii) Additional Post-doctoral research teaching experience in relevant subjects in recognized institute(s) (iii) Knowledge of statistical related computer software like SPSS, EPI­INFO, EPI-ST AT & application packages like MS Office, Fox-Pro. Familiarity with other programmes like VB, Crystal Reports, SQL Server, Oracle, ASP Programming/Java Script will be an advantage

Desirable Qualifications: Knowledge of statistics related computer software like SPSS, EPI-INFO, EPISTAT & application packages like MS-Office.

Job Description: The candidate is required to provide assistance in data analysis and statistical outputs using modern medical statistical tools for implementation of this project or any other related work as per requirement.

Name of Job: Project Assistant (One Position)

Name of the Project: A study on the Magnitude and Pattern of Causes of Heart Failure-a Feasibility study (Up to 29-2-2020)

Consolidated Salary Per Month: Rs. 31,000/-

Upper Age Limit: 30 Years

Essential Qualifications: Graduate in Life Science from a recognized university with three years’ work experience from a recognized institution or Master’s Degree in the relevant subject.

Desirable Qualifications:

(ii) Knowledge of Computer Applications.
(iii) Work experience in a health research project.

Upper Age Limit: 30 Years

Essential Qualifications: Graduate in Life Science from a recognized university with three years’ work experience from a recognized institution or Master’s Degree in the relevant subject.

Desirable Qualifications:

(i) Master’s degree in life Science (Microbiology, Biochemistry / Bioinformatics /Biostatistics or similar) from a recognized university
(ii) Knowledge of Computer Applications.
(iii) Work experience in a health research project.

How to Apply:

  1. Interested and qualified candidates can download the prescribed application form from the web site www.ncdirindia.org and report for the walk-in written test / personal discussion on the dates mentioned in the next page.
  2. Qualification and experience ought to be in relevant discipline/field and from a trusted institution/organization recognized by the relevant authority.
  3. Experience shall count from the date of conclusion of minimum educational qualification.
  4. Submission of false or incorrect information during the process of walk-in written test and/or personal discussion will disqualify the candidature at any stage.
  5. The Director reserves the right to increase/ decrease the number of vacancies according to requirement. Candidates applying for more than 1 post should apply SEPARATELY for every single post.
  6. No benefit of provident fund, Leave Travel Concession, Medical Claim etc. will be considered, since the posts are an only temporary basis.
  7. Age relaxation against post earmarked for reserved candidates will be as per Govt. of India Norms. No relaxation against Unreserved (UR) vacancies.
  8. Age limitation and experience will be considered according to the date of walk-in- a written test and/ or personal discussion.
  9. No TA/DA is going to be compensated for attending the walk-in – a written test and/ or personal discussion.
  10. Mere fulfilling the essential qualification/ experience doesn’t guarantee selection.
  11. Candidates employed in Govt. Service /Semi Govt. Autonomous Bodies of State/Central Govt. Must submit a”No Objection Certificate” from their employer at the time of walk – a written test and/ personal discussion.
  12. The above posts are filled-up on a purely temporary basis and contractual basis, co-terminus together with the project & the candidate is going to have no right to claim for Permanent Employment under NCDIR/ICMR or continuation of their services in any other project.
  13. The written test will be for 70 marks comprising 100 objectives and multiple type questions on the syllabus in accordance with the essential qualification, desired qualification and job description. In the event the qualified candidates are over 30, then the written test will be followed by personal discussion otherwise the direct personal discussion will be held from the time of written test indicated onwards.
  14. Community/ Caste certificate: Candidates applying under OBC category, will submit attested copy of OBC Non – Creamy Layer Certificate in the specified format, issued within a year from the date of walk-ina written test or personal discussion by the appropriate authority. Only Non-Creamy Layer OBC certifications will be accepted and other certificates won’t be accepted.
  15. All posts are contractual for the duration offered. The appointment can be renewed after each specific time period subject to satisfactory performance and project requirement.
  16. The Director has0the right to accept/reject any application without assigning any reason thereof without any recommendation in this matter will be entertained.
  17. Canvassing and bringing pressure in any kind for shortlisting and employment will be a disqualification and barred from the selection process.
  18. Age concession to the extent of service rendered in additional research projects is also admissible for experienced and skilled persons.
  19. Candidates possessing the aforementioned essential qualifications and expertise may come for walk-in written test and / or private discussion at National Centre for Disease Informatics and Research, Nirmal Bhawan-ICMR Complex (II Floor), Poojanahalli, Kannamangala Post, Bengaluru-562110 on the dates indicated below:

* When the qualified candidates are over 30, then the written exam will be held followed by personal discussion otherwise the direct personal discussion will be held from the time of written test indicated onwards.

Those appearing for walk-in – a written test or personal discussion must bring with them original certificates (I) Educational qualification (two ) proof of Date of birth (3) Expertise certificates/testimonials ( 4) One-self illustrated current passport size picture (5) ID Proof (Ex. PAN/Voter ID/Driving License etc.) (6) three sets of self-attested photocopies of documents. (7) SC/ST/OBC/ PWD Certificates, if applicable. (8) Candidates must submit all certifications/testimonials in original for verification. Candidates who don’t bring the original certificates won’t be permitted to attend walk – in – a written test or personal discussion.

  1. Shortlisted candidates will be called for written test and/or personal discussion after verification of essential qualifications and experience.
