Walk In Interview for the temporary Positions of Project Scientist,
Research Associates & Junior Research Fellow

 

Post I

Project Scientist (Project Grant GAP-02) (One Position)

Area: Plant Metabolic Engineering, Molecular Biology, Genome Editing and Bioinformatics.

Essential Qualifications:

PhD thesis submitted/awarded in almost any branch of life / Bioinformatics/ plant sciences.

Desirable qualifications:

a) Excellent academic record with research expertise in an area pertinent to plant metabolic engineering, molecular biology and bioinformatics supported with high-quality publications.
b) Knowledge and experience of in-silico analysis such as transcriptomics, proteomics and genomics.
c) Relevant research publications in reputed international journals with higher impact factors.

Age limit: 35 years according to date of interview (Relaxation is admissible in the event of SC/ST/OBC/PD according to GOI instructions)

Remunerations: Rs. 55,000/- a month and HRA. Leave and other benefits according to NABI rule.

Duration: Appointment will be until November 2019 or until the termination of the project.

Post II

Research Associate-III (Core Grant) (One Position)

Duration: 2 years from the date of joining

Research work responsibility:

Under the general supervision of the scientist, the chosen candidate will be expected to:

  1. Develop innovative computational procedures for assessing high-throughput genomic data,
  2. Procedure and incorporate experimental results utilizing custom bioinformatics tools.
  3. Publish scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and present findings in seminars and conferences.
  4. Work cooperatively with other laboratory members and external collaborators.

Essential qualifications:

  1. PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, statistics, computer science, applied mathematics, biotechnology or related scientific/technical disciplines or M.Tech in the above-related field with at least 3 years of research experience and at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) Journal.
  2. Skills in assessing and manipulating large datasets and proficiency in programming (C++/C, Java, Perl/Python, R, SQL) and machine learning

Emoluments: Rs. 54000/- a month and HRA. (According to DST OM No. SR/s9/Z-08/2018 dated 30.01.2019)

Desirable experience:

  1. Research expertise in the area of computational genomics or next-generation sequencing analyses as shown by a minimum of one publication as the first author.
  2. Knowledge in statistical methods in the context of biological systems.

Essential Qualifications:

Post Graduate Degree at Basic Science OR Graduate /Post Graduate Degree in the professional course chosen through a procedure described through any one of those following:

Scholars that are chosen through National Eligibility Tests-CSIR-UGC-NET such as Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.

The selection procedure through National Level examinations conducted by central government departments and their agencies and institutions like DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.

DesiredĀ Experience: Expertise in agricultural or plant biotechnology, plant tissue culture, rice or some other crop plant transformation, genome editing, genomics/bioinformatics.

Emoluments: JRF (1st & 2nd Year): 31,000/- PM Plus 8 percent HRA from 3rd Year 35,000/- PM Plus 8 percent HRA

The duly filled application form has to be submitted at the time of registration at NABI from 0900 hrs to 1000 hrs on above-mentioned date and time. The candidates must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates won’t be interviewed. Each of the candidates is asked to appear for the interview with complete CV, thesis/project report, publications and original degree certificates and transcripts. No TA/DA is going to be compensated for appearing in the interview. Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will cause disqualification of the candidate(s).
