Name of the Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

No.of Positions: 01

Project Title: Understanding phosphorus deficiency and iron toxicity tolerance in rice under acidic soils of North East Hill Region (DBT, GOI)

Emoluments: Rs. 12,000 + 10% HRA / Rs. 25,000+ 10% HRA ( Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science with NET qualification or Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course)

Essential Qualifications: M.Sc. in Plant Molecular Biology &/or Biotechnology /Genetics & Plant Breeding/ Botany/Horticulture with working knowledge of PCR based.

Desirable Qualifications: Experience in breeding/molecular work in plants or “omics” related work in plants.


Post II

Name of the Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

No.of Positions: 01

Project Title: Understanding phosphorus deficiency and iron toxicity tolerance in rice under acidic soils of North East Hill Region (DBT, GOI)

Emoluments: Rs. 36,000 + 20% HRA

Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Biology &/or Biotechnology/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/ Botany/ Biochem with working knowledge of PCR based markers.

Name of the Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Project Title: From QTL to Variety: Genomics assisted introgression and field evaluation of rice varieties with genes/QTLs for yield drought, flood and salt stress’ (DBT, GOI)

Emoluments: Rs. 25,000+ 10% HRA ( Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science with NET qualification or Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course)

Essential Qualifications: MSc in Plant Molecular Biology &/or Biotechnology/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/ Botany with working knowledge of handling plants in field conditions.

Desirable Qualifications: Experience in breeding/molecular/field work in plants.


Post IV

Name of the Position: Traineeship

No.of Positions: 02

Project Title: Understanding phosphorus deficiency and iron toxicity tolerance in rice under acidic soils of North East Hill Region (DBT, GOI)

Emoluments: Rs. 8, 000/ month ( fixed) for a period of 6 months

Essential Qualifications: For M.Sc. degree holders in Plant Molecular Biology &/or Biotechnology /Genetics & Plant Breeding/ Botany

How to Apply:

No TA/DA and official accommodation will be provided for appearing in the interview. The posts are contractual and co-terminus together with the project with no provision for regularization. The Dean reserves the right to cancel/postpone the interview without assigning any reason thereof. The Dean shall also reserve the right to terminate the contract of the job as stated earlier, even prior to the conclusion of the project for which no appeal will be made. The candidate has to bring the relevant certificates/mark sheets/thesis, etc in original along with an application with complete bio-data addressed to the Dean, enclosing photocopies of certificates and mark sheets from HSC onward: duly attested affixing a passport size photo on the top.
