Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) have become recognized as playing a substantial part in improving social, human, and economic growth and fulfilling the aspirations of nations and people throughout the world. Because of this, understanding STI procedures and investigating ways to reinforce them is

a significant strand of intellectual action, evinced from the explosion of literature on these subjects in the previous ten years. Department of Science and Technology (DST) realized the significance of evidence-driven research and investigation from underpinning the successful achievement of the goals of the policy and based DST Centers for Policy Research (CPRs) in several academic institutions throughout the nation. These facilities are engaged in concentrated research in variety of important areas pertinent to the nation, train young scholars in STI policy study, and contribute to supplying inputs to DST.

Since the state is lagging behind concerning critical mass and suitable arrangement of policy research establishment(s), Policy Research Cell of DST had declared STI Policy Fellowship Programme. In 2016 with the broad objective of (a) improving human resources which may engage with and contribute to the STI policy domain and (b) strengthen the knowledge base, think tank, and evidence based policy making. The 3rd Call for STI Policy Fellowship is declared to present an chance to develop the abilities for young engineers and scientists that are interested in involvement with the STI policy domain or as STI policy investigators. This programme intends to attract and promote top notch investigators as POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW (Max 10 numbers) to focus on the topics pertaining to STI policy and contribute their expertise and analytical abilities in the policy domain.

Eligibility & How to Apply:

Candidates with history of science/medicine/engineering/ social science (using a history of STI coverage) academic scholars, STI policy investigators, together with good academic record are expected to submit their program (such as a proposal of maximum 5 pages on empirical study on STI related coverage topics), in prescribed format accessible at DST site www.dst.gov.in via ONLINE MODE ONLY (https://onlinedst.gov.in). The proposition rather about the topics pertaining to thematic regions of the applicants’ desirable DST-CPR or Policy Research Group at academic/research institutions have to be formulated although consultation with the mentor in the various Centre/group.
