Postdoctoral Research Associate Post Funded @ University of Cambridge

A postdoctoral Research Associate (PhD awarded or in the process of being awarded) position, funded by the Wellcome Trust, is available for a talented and ambitious researcher to investigate nuclear envelope regulation and links with disease using diverse and innovative approaches. The lab is interested in identifying and characterizing new pathways and druggable regulators that can modulate nuclear envelope function. Ultimately, this work might yield novel therapeutic angles for nuclear envelope-associated diseases.

This challenging and exciting role will involve the use of biochemical, proteomics, advanced microscopy techniques and biophysical approaches. In addition, to identify new candidates involved in nuclear envelope control, we will carry out high throughput genetic and chemical screens.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in a wide range of cell and molecular biology techniques, in addition to experience with cellular or mouse models of disease. The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated, productive, and possess strong problem solving and interpersonal skills. He/she should also be able to work independently, accurately judge priorities, and have excellent organisational and communication skills.

The successful candidate will join the the Cambridge Institute for Medical Research (CIMR) part of the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine. The Institute provides modern laboratory accommodation and state of the art research facilities on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
