University of Mumbai-Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS) has been established on the Kalina campus of the University of Mumbai to impart high quality education in the Basic Sciences after the 10+ 2 ( or equivalent) level of schooling, in a vibrant academic ambiance by a faculty of distinguished teachers and scientists.

CEBS invites applications from eligible candidates for a Postdoctoral fellow position in cancer biology. 

Postdoctoral Fellow in Cancer Biology to work on the project titled: “Understanding the molecular mechanisms of cancer metastasis and the working of potent antimetastatic agents in cancer cells”.

Tenure : The position is offered on an annually renewable basis, and are tenable up to three years.

Emoluments : Commensurate with post-Ph.D. research experience of the candidate, in the range of Rs. 36000.00 – Rs. 40000.00 (+ HRA) per month, and an annual contingency grant of Rs. 32000.00. For those who have submitted their thesis and waiting for final defence will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 32000.00 + HRA

Qualifications:

  • Essential – A Ph.D. in any branch of Life Sciences with at least two publications ( of which at least one as first author/corresponding author paper) in peer­reviewed scientific journals
  • Experience – Experience in animal celJ culture, SiRNA-mediated gene silencing, immunofluorescence and confocal imaging, Western-blot, FACS, and biochemical assays is desirable. Preference will be given to candidates having experience in cancer cell biology and experimental therapeutics
