Indian Council of Agricultural research (ICAR) established Central Island Agricultural Research Institute, Port Blair on June 23rd, 1978 by merging different regional research stations of ICAR institutes located in Islands. The ultimate aim of CIARI is the developments of island agricultural production technologies which utilizes the strengths of the island and convert the constraints in opportunities, without causing any ill effect to the fragile ecosystem of the island.

Project Title – Baseline Survey to ascertain the status of chemical residues in soil water agricultural products and its regular monitoring in Andaman and Nicobar Islands
Duration – Upto 31st March 2017 or till completion of the project.
Emoluments – Rs. 16,000/- + 15% HRA for 1st & 2nd Year
Age – Below 35 year for men & 40 years for women with 05 years relaxation to SC/ST and 03 years relaxation for OBC
- Essential – Doctoral or Masters degree in Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Soil Science, Entomology, Pathology or any Life Science.
- Desirable – Experience of working in heavy metal and pesticide analysis, working knowledge on GC,GC-MS, AAS and soil biological/Microbiological Studies. Ready for frequency travel to far off places for samples collection
