Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow in the research project entitled “Development of a molecular needle as a novel platform for delivery of anticancer drugs” funded by Biotechnology Ignition Grant (BIG), BIRAC Government of India, to work with Dr. Nusrat J M Sanghamitra, Innovator, BIG, KIIT-TBI, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar.
Brief details of the work to be undertaken:
- The work will require functionalization of proteins/peptides, coupling reactions of drugs and biomolecules and their characterization using spectroscopic, imaging and analytical techniques, development of nano-bioassemblies and their in-vitro reactivity in human cancer cell lines.
- Candidates with an aptitude of biofunctional chemistry and experience in one or more of the above-mentioned techniques will be preferred.
The outcome of this research will lead to the establishment of a startup company. Fellowship: As per rule of BIG
Qualifications: The applicant should have M.Sc./M.Tech in Biotechnology/Chemistry/Pharmacy/Life Sciences/Biochemistry with good academics records with minimum 60% marks in the concerned subjects and preferably previous research experience in the relevant area. In addition, preference will be given to candidates with GATE/NET/DST-INSPIRE. The age limit should not exceed 28yr as on 1st February, 2016.
General Terms and Conditions: The position is temporary but can be extended depending on performance and project continuation.
