Bio- Medical informatics is a newly emerging interdisciplinary field that integrates medicine, biology, and information technology. This workshop is the starting point for hands-on instruction in the use of software tools for genomic and computational biology research. This introductory workshop aims to teach the basics of molecular modeling and Receptor-ligand docking techniques. More emphasis will be given to hands on trainingand practical exercises. The workshop is fully supported by ICMR. There will be no course fee. However, the selected students will have to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements.

Preference will be given to applicants from in and around Delhi and to those who can use these tools in their research work. A maximum of 25 participants will be selected.

Functional polymer-based nanoparticles are an important class of materials that is gaining evermore interest in a wide range of areas extending from nanotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and biomedical applications. The objectives of this interdisciplinary project are to develop novel strategies to ameliorate cancer therapy by exploiting the fundamental advantages of these nanoparticles. The discovery and characterization of specific drug combinations delivered by tailor-made nano-constructs will most likely result in a much more efficient anti-cancer therapy.
