Department of Chemical Sciences at IISER Bhopal seeks motivated candidates for pursuing Ph.D. programme in the fields of Theoretical/Computational Chemistry, Chemical Physics, and Biophysics. Applicants should have a Masters Degree (or equivalent) in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or a related science or engineering area with excellent academic record. There is no deadline. Consideration of candidates will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.

RRCAT is a Constituent Institute of "Homi Bhabha National Institute" (HBNI), a Deemed University, and invites students with appropriate qualifications to pursue Ph.D. programme in various specialized areas of physics, chemistry and biology, listed above. As per the rules of HBNI, the Ph.D. programme consists of course work of one year duration and research work of up to 4 years duration. The Ph.D. programme will commence in the beginning of September 2010. DAE Junior Research Fellowships will be offered to those selected for the pursuit of Ph.D. programme. The fellowship amount is Rs. 12000 per month for the first two years and Rs. 14000 per month for the next three years subject to satisfactory progress.

The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB) and Monash University, Australia have joined forces to create a unique Joint Venture (JV) research academy (“The Academy”) that aims at enhancing research collaborations between Australia and India.
The Academy will be located in a purpose built, modern facility located at the Powaii campus of IITB. The Academy will operate as an independent, autonomous research institution. The Academy will have an independent Board, a CEO, research staff and seconded staff from IITB/Monash in it.

Selection/admission procedure:
Admissions to all programmes are strictly based on merit. For B. Tech. programmes 70% of the total seats are filled by SASTRA based on the qualifying higher secondary examination marks following the process of normalization.
For all PG programmes the admissions are made on the basis of the scores in the qualifying UG / PG degree programme. GATE qualified students are given preference. For all other UG arts & science programmes, admissions are based on the qualifying examination marks
