TWAS-DBT Fellowships in Biotechnology

The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) of the Ministry of Science and Technology – www.dbtindia.nic.in – was established in 1986 as a separate department under the Ministry of Science and Technology to give new impetus to the growth and application of biotechnology in the areas of agriculture, healthcare, animal sciences, environment and industry.

TWAS-DBT Fellowships for Postgraduate Research in India. Awarded to students from developing countries holding a master's degree in a field of natural sciences or engineering and who would like to earn a PhD in biotechnology. Duration: up to 5 years.
 
TWAS-DBT Fellowships for Postdoctoral Research in India. Awarded to young scientists from developing countries holding a PhD in a field of natural sciences or engineering and who wish to conduct postdoctoral research in biotechnology. Duration: a minimum period of 6 months to 12-18 months. After one year, an extension for a maximum of 6 months may be possible.

Deadline: 31 August of each year.
 
Fellowships are tenable at key biotechnology research institutions in India.
