Emoluments for JRF, SRF, Research Associate increased | All Government funded Project researchers get the benefit
New Delhi, 8th April
It comes as pleasure for all the existing as well as Aspiring Research scholars since Department os Science and technology has issued a circular dating march 31st stating that the emoluments for JRF, SRF and Research Associates has been increased as per the following:
Please Note that these emoluments are applicable for all the Government of India Funded or Its Agency Funded Projects.


This is not enough, According to DST, These emoluments will be exempted from Income tax under 10(16) of IT Act, 1961.
Clearly the government's move is a clear signal to encourage research and development in the Country. So all the researchers out there. you have many more things to rejoice now. Cheers!!

Regarding Fellowship
The post says that a student qualified NET with a lectureship is eligible for a fellowship of 12,000 rs as a JRF if registered for PhD. is that true? if yes, what is the procedure for it? I,ve qualified NET December 2009 with a lectureship. would i be eligible for the same? I tried contacting the DSt to know more about it but got no satisfactory reply. Can som,eone please help???
