DNA Replication

The DNA is both heterocatalytic and autocatalytic which means that it is capable of directing not only the synthesis of chemical molecules other than itself such as m-RNA, proteins but also the synthesis of DNA itself. Thus the property of the DNA of synthesizing a copy of its own is known as DNA replication. In other words the duplication process of DNA is called DNA replication.

Before the elucidation of the process of replication in clarity, it posed a challenge for the scientists to decipher it.
