Students Hands On
Training Programme On “Genomics,
Transformation, Molecular Marker And
Bioinformatics Tools For Plant Study And
Improvement” June 29, 2011 to July 8, 2011
Organized by
Junagadh Agricultural University

Objective : The recombinant DNA technique has enabled gene transfer across all possible interspecies barriers. The present era of „Gene Revolution‟ requires skilled human resources in this high throughput area. The Department of Biotechnology, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh, Gujarat is a leading seat of training in the field of Agricultural Biotechnology with emphasis on plants and microorganisms. The department is going to organize ten days hands on training on the “Genomics, transformation, molecular marker and Bioinformatics tools for plant study and improvement” covering different techniques in plant tissue culture, genetic engineering and molecular biology. The proposed training has been designed keeping in view the needs of State Universities & Colleges and Post Graduate college students of Biotechnology. The training programme will include lectures as well as practical classes in the proportion of 30:70.
