ICRISAT invites applications from Indian nationals for the post of Junior Research Fellow to be based at Patancheru,(Near Hyderabad). Andhra Pradesh, India. This is a nationally recruited staff (NRS) position under CEG Project "Center of Excellence for high-throughput allele determination for molecular breeding” (CEG, www.icrisat.org/ceg)- second phase (for 3 years) sponsored by DBT and IGSTC project “Biotechnological approaches to improve chickpea crop productivity for farming community and industry” (for 3 years) sponsored by DST under the framework of Indo-German Science and Technology Centre (IGSTC)

ICRISAT is a non-profit, apolitical, international organization for science-based agricultural development. Established in 1972, it is an Alliance of centers of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), and supported by more than 48 governments, foundations, and development banks. To reduce poverty, enhance crop productivity and food security and to protect the environment, ICRISAT research focuses on farming systems and crop improvement, management and utilization of sorghum, pearl millet, pigeonpea, chickpea, and groundnut in the semi-arid tropics.

Responsibilities : Perform DNA/RNA isolation, PCR amplification, molecular marker (including SNP, SSR and DArT) analysis, experimental data recording and analysis and other related jobs assigned from time to time.
