How many seats are there for csir jrf in life science? 3000?

Dear biotechnika members,

This time 2882 ppl have cleared their paper 1 in CSIR Life Science. In one local news paper of our region, i read that, CSIR doubled the total number of seats this year. It also said that, 12000 seats will e available from this time.
There are 4 streams in the CSIR, so atleast 3000 seats will be alloted to each stream. thats wat i think., but only 2882 have cleared first paper. in Life Science, y is this so??

How many jrf seats will be alloted in CSIR for Life Science? pls tell me if any one knows.

I think , generally the cutoffs for general/OBC is around 46-48 for getting JRFs and based on that number of candidates qualifying the exams changes.

NUMBER OF SEATS IN CSIR JRF EXAMS

there are only 74 seats for csir + ugc jrf in general category.
and upto rank 115 for SC and ST in Life Sciences.( Aswas in december net exam 2011)

for life science there are total 500 final seats and these are doubled seats coz earlier it was 250 seats only
