Registration for PhD programme under AcSIR in Biological & Chemical Science at IIIM, Jammu
The CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (111M), Jammu, a national institute of the Council of scientific & Industrial Research is a center of excellence for natural products chemistry, chemical biology, medicinal chemistry, pharmacology and biotechnology. The main focus of the institute is on scientific exploration of secondary metabolites from plants and microbial biodiversity to discover new chemical entities (NCEs) as well as botanicals as drugs for unmet medical needs, and to provide scientific rationale and validity to various Indian systems of medicine. The key disease areas of our interest are cancer, inflammation and infections. The institute provides an excellent ambience for creativity and innovative thinking along with state-of-the-art research facilities.
IIIM invites applications from M.Sc. / M. Pharma students for admission to its Ph.D. programme of AcSIR in Science (in August 2012 session). The institute currently has about 120 Ph.D. students. The selected candidates will have the opportunity to work under experienced scientists at Jammu as well as Srinagar campuses of the Institute. The institute will provide suitable residential accommodation.
