The Computational Biology Group of Interdisciplinary Center for Clinical Research (IZKF) Aachen, RWTH Aachen University Hospital, Aachen, invites applicants for acandidate position in the area of computational biology methods for gene regulation and epigenetics on cell differentiation.
Project Description : The project is based on the integrative analysis of expression, transcription factor binding and epigenetic data to understand regulatory processes behind cell differentiation and the onset of diseases. We are particularly interested in using hidden Markov models for the segmentation of genomic regions given their epigenetic profiles to characterize genomic regions and their roles in gene regulation during cell differentiation. This project will be performed in collaboration with the Institute for Biomedical Engineering, Department of, RWTH Aachen University Hospital, which is interested in the study of antigen presenting dendritic cell development.
Educational Qualification : Applicants should hold a. or equivalent degree in , Computer Science or related areas. Experience in the analysis of gene expression, transcription factor binding and ChIP-Seq is desirable. The candidate should have solid programming skills (C, Python and R) and acquaintance with Linux (high performance computing is a plus). The working language of the group is English.
