M.Sc / Ph.D can walk-in for RA and SRF post at Indian Veterinary Research Institute

Applications are invited for the engagement of RA (one + one) and SRF (one) on purely
temporary basis to work in TWO different NAIP funded projects entitled “Development of goat
having knocked down myostatin gene through RNA interference technology to enhance the meat production (C2132)” and “Genetic basis of inferior sperm quality and fertility of crossbred bulls (C30015)”.

• Essential Qualification: M. V. Sc. /Ph. D (Animal Genetics & Breeding/ Animal Biotechnology/ Animal Biochemistry/ Veterinary Microbiology) or M. Sc. / Ph.D. (Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Bioinformatics).
• Desirable qualification: Working knowledge of Molecular Biology Techniques (DNA/RNA isolation, Cloning, Southern, Northern, Western blotting, Genomic and or cDNA library screening, ELISA, Bacterial culture, transformation, Real Time PCR and other relevant techniques) evident ONLY through dissertation work/ research publication.
• Nature of job: The incumbent is expected to carry out a part of the project objectives  independently and/ or to assist the Scientists and other Workers as there need be. The incumbent will also be essentially required to collect material from abattoir and biological samples from animals at odd hours.
• Total emoluments: As per ICAR norm vides OM No. 15(1)2010-A&P (Edn) Dated 26, 2010: @ Rs. 18000 (I & II yr) & Rs. 20000 (III yr and onwards) +HRA @ 20% as per ICAR norm;
• Age: Maximum 35 years (relaxable as per GOI rule)
