Apply for Ph.D position at Canadian Society of Microbiology

The Canadian Society of Microbiologists seeks to advance Microbiology in all its aspects and to facilitate the interchange of ideas between microbiologists. The membership includes honorary, emeritus, ordinary, student and sustaining members.

The Antimicrobial Resistance Laboratory at UOIT http://faculty.uoit.ca/kumar/lab.htm is looking for a highly motivated PhD student to investigate the molecular mechanisms of multidrug resistance (MDR) in Acinetobacter baumannii. A. baumannii is a notorious bacterial pathogen known to cause MDR infections in immunocompromised individuals. Our laboratory is interested in a better understanding of mechanisms that contribute to A. baumannii’s MDR phenotype, in particular energy-dependent efflux and outer membrane permeability.
