Vacancy notification for B.Sc Ag for a Research Technician post at ICRISAT, Patancheru

ICRISAT is seeking an innovative, dynamic and creative Program Director who is a strong believer in partnerships to lead and manage the CGIAR Research Program on Dryland Cereals. 

The Position : Research Technician

Responsibilities :
a. To supervise on-farm farmer participatory action research trials in different districts of Andhra Pradesh under the Government of AP-ICRISAT Project on Bhoochetana involving rainfed crops;
b. To interact with the farmers, researchers and Department of Agriculture officials and act as a liaison person in the district;
c. To travel within the district and providing technical support to the Farm Facilitators/Lead Farmers and Farmers in the district;
d. To record scientific data, collecting of the information about the farmers and undertaking the crop cutting experiments to record yields in the demonstration plots.

Competencies :
a. Fluent in English and local language (telugu) (both written and spoken);
b. Proficiency in Computer skills (Ms- Office, data analysis);
c. Should be a good team player and adaptable to working in multicultural team.

Requirements :
a. Graduate (B.Sc – Agri / B.Sc in Biological Sciences) with related experience;
b. Candidate with flair for field work and  group interactions;
c. Highly proficient in MS-Office suite, with special reference to Powerpoint and Excel;
d. Willingness to travel as per needs of the job;
e. Good interpersonal and communication skills with pleasing personality.
