Researchers! Attend the 1st NRC-DBS Biological Workshop @ IISc, Bangalore
NRCDBS - The Networking Centre, funded by the University Grants Commission, was established in May 2009 to impart training in theory and practice in various and emerging fields in Biological sciences to the faculty and researchers in Universities and UGC-recognized colleges and institutions to foster and augment this capacity building, and teaching and research skills. Centres in the Division of Biological sciences at the Institute are partners in the NRC@DBS and as such the centre is endowed with excellent expertise to impart training in a wide range of frontier areas of biological research to the participants of the NRC@DBS summer visitor workshops and schools.
Applications are invited for the first summer workshop in Biological sciences to be held in March-April 2010. Duration 3 weeks. The workshop will cover theory classes and exposure to basic experiments in modern biology. The exact dates will be notified in due course.
Topics Covered
The workshop consists of theory classes in basic and contemporary topics in various disciplines in Biological sciences and hands-on training on recombinant and general laboratory techniques.
How To Apply
Applicants should send a brief biodata including a paragraph on current research being carried out and list of publications if any to the coordinator of the UGC Networking Centre. Since the number of seats is limited, preference will be given to those who are engaged in teaching and research.
