Attend the Training programme on "Introduction to Biological Databases & Data Mining Techniques" conducted by AAU, Assam

Bioinformatics is the latest & hottest buzzword in the field of Science & Technology in which Biology, Computer Science and Information Technology merge into a single discipline. The ultimate goal of Bioinformatics is to enable the discovery of new biological insights as well as to create a global prospective from which unifying principles in biology can be discerned. The term Bioinformatics was coined by Paulien Hogeweg in 1979 for the study of informatic processes in biotic systems. Bioinformatics now entails the creation and advancement of databases, algorithms, computational and statistical techniques, and theory to solve formal and practical problems arising from the management and analysis of biological data.

Objectives
The aim of this meeting is to expose the trainees to basic concepts of Bioinformatics & its application in Agricultural research, Biological databases, basics in Linux, Database management System and the data mining techniques as an automated means of reducing the complexity of data in large Bioinformatics databases and of discovering meaningful, useful patterns and relationships in data. Course also includes an overview of the methods, technologies, and challenges associated with data mining.
