Current Opening: Research Associate- Molecular Biology

Provides assistance to a Scientist on experiments focusing on molecular biology in support of drug discovery programs and projects.
   * Perform DNA isolation, quantify DNA, gene cloning and sequence analysis, protein expression and purification, gene expression analysis, cDNA library construction, and PCR analysis.
   * Provides training to trainee biologists and other project assistants on molecular biological techniques, procedures and laboratory safety.
   * Upon completion of experiments, maintains records of experiments and results in accessible format; help in the preparation of study reports.

     

Job Qualifications:

    * MSc/MTech in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology with at least two years working experience at molecular biology lab.
    * Professional knowledge of the theories, principles, methods and techniques for molecular cloning,
    * DNA manipulation and genetic analysis is required.
    * Hands-on experience in DNA and RNA isolation from human blood, long range PCR, RT-PCR, Real-time quantitative PCR, gel electrophoresis, and other basic molecular biology is preferred.
    * Extensive experience on database searching and sequence analysis is preferred.

    * Excellent written communication skills and the ability to write clearly and succinctly for publication
    * Ability to organise own work with minimal supervision
    * Ability to prioritise own work in response to deadlines
