Qualification: M.Sc. first class in Botany/ Biotechnology/Biochemistry/ Microbiology with DBT- JRF, CSIR-UGC NET including NET (LS) or valid GATE score. The selected JRF will be allowed to register for Ph.D. Non NET/GATE qualified candidates may also be considered for Project Assistant (PA, level-II) if found suitable.
Salary :- Rs.12,000/-PM + HRA

General Conditions: The Discipline of Marine Biotechnology and Ecology of CSMCRI, Bhavnagar is actively engaged in multidisciplinary research in frontier areas of modern biology and biotechnology. Some of the ongoing/new projects (sponsored by CSIR, DBT, DST, etc) of the Discipline for which we wish to recruit 7 Junior Research Fellows are:
- Cloning and characterization of stress-responsive genes, promoter isolation and development of transgenic crop plants
- Climate change and adaptation- Proteomics in relation to climate change variability
- Seaweed cultivation and value addition
- Mapping of marine biodiversity (seaweeds and marine microbes) using molecular tools and techniques
Age: Not more than 28 years as on interview date (relaxation as per CSIR rules).
Fellowship - JRF (for first two years): Rs. 12,000/-PM + HRA; Subsequent years: Rs. 14,000/- PM +HRA; For PA (level-II)- Rs. 12000/ PM consolidated.
