A ICMR funded project Genome wide expression profiling to determine the molecular basis of sensitivity to temozolomide in patients with Glioblastoma multiforme” at ACTREC requires:

Junior Research Fellow (1 post)

Job Description: Glioblastoma multiforme is a highly malignant brain tumour for which effective treatment is not available. Temozolomide is a new drug that has been shown to prolong survival of these patients. The study involves DNA, RNA extraction from tumor tissues, immunohistochemical analysis, Real time RT-PCR and microarray profiling to identify gene/s determining efficacy of temozolomide treatment.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in: Applied Biology/ Botany/ Biochemistry/ Bioinformatics/ Biophysics/ Biotechnology/ Life Sciences/ Microbiology/ Molecular Biology/ Zoology; or M.B.B.S. from a recognized University, with not less than 55% aggregate marks. 

Fellowship: Stipend @ Rs.12000/- + 30% HRA per month

Project period : Upto March 2012
