4 Year (Research Associate) to study Cell Division, DNA Segregation and the Bacterial Cytoskeleton.
Based in the Centre for Bacterial Cell Biology you will study cell division, DNA segregation and the bacterial cytoskeleton during the cell cycle and other cellular processes, using genetic, biochemical and cell biological techniques, using the unique imaging resources available. Experience in bacterial genetics and/or biochemistry or a closely related field is necessary. They are particularly interested in cytoskeletal proteins involved in DNA segregation or in the identification of novel mechanisms/factors that couple cell growth with cell wall expansion. You will have a large degree of freedom of project choice within the field of molecular microbiology using E. coli or relatives as model organism.
