Rational drug design is inventive process of finding new medications based on the knowledge of biological target. The drug is generally a small organic molecule, which activates or inhibits the function of a biomolecule such as a protein resulting in a therapeutic benefit to the patients. Such interactions also lead to adverse drug reaction on toxicity of drugs. In pharmaceutical research, Bio-, Chemo- and Pharmaco-informatics play an important role. Application of advanced technologies have led significant amount of data on a previously unknown scale and knowledge management has thus been identified as one of the top priorities in the innovative medicines initiative. These areas focus on modeling of drug bio-molecule interactions, especially drug-lipid, drug-DNA and protein-DNA interactions and molecular dynamics simulations of large systems. The goal of the workshop is to familiarize t participants with ·Basic and advanced in silico techniques used in Bioinformatics and rational drug design. ·Current challenges in bioinformatics application and approaches.
