International Conference on Role of Biomolecules in Food Security & Health Improvement @BHU | Send E-Abstracts

The Indian Society of Agricultural Biochemists, Kanpur and Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, are jointly organizing an International Conference on the “Role of Biomolecules in Food Security and Health Improvement” along with the XI Silver Jubilee Convention of the Society at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India from February 17-20, 2010.

An understanding of the metabolism of biomolecules in human system will help in their manipulation to improve the health of mankind. This Conference is going to be a unique one in the sense that it is going to address the role of biomolecules in both food production as well as human health improvement. There will be an opportunity to the scientists associated with the improvement of both plants and humans to interact and develop useful recommendations.

This International Conference will provide a platform to biochemists, physiologists, biotechnologists, nutritionists, medical personnel, and industrialists involved in both crop development and human health improvement from various corners of the globe to interact and formulate recommendations which may serve as guidelines to those engaged in research and development in the area. The themes to be addressed are :

  • Metabolic regulation and biomolecules
  • Metabolic engineering for crop quality improvement
  • Role of biomolecules in biotic and abiotic stress tolerance in crop plants
  • Plant products as therapeutics
  • Enzymes and Enzyme technology in relation to human health
  • Role of phytochemicals and nutraceuticals in human nutrition and health
  • Biotechnology for crop improvement
  • Role of biomolecules in amelioration of clinical disorders
  • Immunodiagnostics in human health
  • Public private partnership for food and nutritional security
  • Nanotechnology in agriculture and medicine
  • General Session
