About the Institute
Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology previously called Sardar Vallabhbhai Regional engineering college, surat is one of the 17 Regional Engineering Colleges that were set up as a joint venture of the Government of Gujarat and Government of India. In September 2002 it is converted into the S.V. National Institute of Technology along with other REC’s. The seven degree courses, fifteen M.Tech and six M.Tech research program which being offered by institute. In addition of five years Integrated M.Sc. programme in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics with an intake of 30 in each through AIEEE/CATS examination, full time/ part time Ph.D. programme with scholarship is being offered by all the departments.

A Special Interest Group (SIG) on Bioinformatics was formed under TC5 (Technical Committee 5) of IFIP during 2009 and approved in the Executive committee meeting of TC5 of IFIP held on 16th May 2009.

1st IFIP INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON BIOINFORMATICS MARCH 25 – 28, 2010

Original research papers on recent developments in bioinformatics are invited for oral and poster presentation in the conference. Intended participants are invited to send the abstracts (not exceeding 250 words) along with full length papers to the organizing secretary on E- mail address bioin2010@gmail.com by December 15, 2009. The Academic program of the conference will consist of Keynote, Plenary and Invited Talks, and Paper Presentations in the following

Young Scientist Awards
There will be three Young Scientist Awards each in the categories of oral and poster presentation. The candidates upto the age of 35 years on 1st March 2010 will be eligible for being considered for Young Scientist Awards. The candidates who wish to be considered for Young Scientist Awards should indicate on the top of the paper “For Consideration of Young Scientists Award” and send their abstracts and full length papers to the Organizing Secretary by 15th Dec 2009. The papers will be reviewed by the screening committee to decide the mode of pesentation(oral/poster)and selection of paper for presentation in the Award Sessions. The candidate must produce appropriate document for proof of age at the time of registration.
