Event I - CereBrate
It is an on-the spot event.
Round I
The participants are given a set of scientific problem statements for which they need to come out with apt technical solutions.Based on the performance of the participants in the first round, some of them are short-listed.
Round II
Here, the participants are provided with some flawed flow charts on a downstream process and they are required to troubleshoot them.After further eliminations, the selected participants proceed to next round.
Round III
The participants are provided with a problem statement for which they should come up with ideal solution, followed by a group discussion with a panel of judges.
Prize money : Rs. 12,000

Event II - CSI SASTRA
The event consists of 3 rounds. Level based screening will be done.
Round I
Consists of questions on general aptitude and logical reasoning. Questions for this round will be updated on the website on a later date. Participants will have to submit their answers within a stipulated time. Selected teams will be intimated prior to DAKSH and they are expected to be present during DAKSH for the next rounds.
Round II
On spot written round consisting questions related to forensic technologies, biology, chemistry and mathematics.
Round III
The main round where selected teams have to investigate the crime scene, collect evidences, analyze test reports etc. to solve the case. Teams will have to finally present the consolidated evidences to prove the guilt of a particular suspect.

Any Computing Brain always deals with inputs and outputs. Here, the inputs are based on biological problem statements and on the other end, the output lies with the budding programmers with their invincible programs as solutions. So, here goes the format of the event.

Event IV - Protein Tetrix
The event consists of 2 phases and each phase has 2 rounds. Level based screening will be done.
Phase I
Round 1:
Quiz with multiple choice questions on Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and computer science to be answered within a stipulated time period.
Round 2:
Includes Biological data related problems that are to be solved using Online Bioinformatics tools and databases like NCBI, BLAST and CLUSTALW with time constraint.

Event V
Problem Statement:
Participants are provided with 2 litre of water at ambient temperature which they are expected to heat to the maximum possible temperature within the stipulated time, using solar energy as a primary source. In addition, an adiabatic vessel must be designed to store this heated liquid for a given amount of time such that the fall in temperature of the heated liquid is minimised.
The event consists of two rounds.
Round I
The participants are expected to mail their abstracts on or before 10th Feb, 2010 to chromoxone@daksh.sastra.edu with subject SOLARISE.
Round II
The selected teams will be intimated through e-mail . The finished working models have to be presented during DAKSH'10.
Prize money : Rs. 25,000
