Attend the Conference on BioSensors @ Alagappa University
Alagappa University has emerged from the galaxy of Institutions initially founded by the great Philanthropist and Educationist Dr.RM.Alagappa Chettiar in 1985 at Karikudi, Tamilnadu, India. This University Accredited by NAAC with “A” grade by UGC. New Innovative programmes are suitably designed and offered at the University for the Indian as well as foreign students. Many exchange programmes have attracted the attention of the teachers and students from abroad. The post graduate departments and centers in science and humanities in the University and other collaborative agencies offer quality education through regular, week end and distance modes and e-learning catering to the needs of more than a of students. The University’s motto is “EXCELLENCE IN ACTION“ and the University keeps before it the vision of excellence in all spheres of its action.
Bioelectronics and Biosensors is an interdisciplinary course involving chemistry, physics biology, and microelectronics, started in the year 2008 by this university for first time in India. The department is engaged in the design and development of biosensors and bioelectronic devices for applications in various fields of sciences that include medical, environmental and agricultural. The major scope of this department is to fabricate miniaturized sensor elements, their integration into portable electronic and optical devices for the fast and on-site evaluation of clinical sample analysis, biological warfare agent detection for preventing bioterrorism and detection of environmental pollutants. The department will also serve as a consultancy for professionals in universities, institutes, industries for research and development of novel diagnostic devices for health and environmental care. The department offers M.Sc and PhD programmes in Bioelectronics and Biosensors.
