Ayurveda and Siddha are unique herbal-based traditional Indian Systems of medicine that have contributed significantly to the healthcare of the human society. These medicines have long history of use and better patient tolerance as well as acceptance. Modern
medicine has been highly effective in the treatment and prevention of many illnesses. However, modern medicine suffers from serious side effects. Therapeutic formulations for diseases like cardiovascular and haemophobia and for disorders like autoimmune
disorders are highly expensive.
Objectives
The PhytoCongress 2010 to be organized at SASTRA University will strive to create awareness and to promote chemical and biotechnological research focussed on Indian System of Medicine and herbs in various phytoproducts. The conference will showcase the significance and importance of modern technologies and sciences in globalling Indian systems of medicine and phytoproducts. The event is aimed at promoting evidence-based phytoproducts and to create a common platform to take up quality research in these fields and to contribute significantly in the development of phytomedicine and phytoproducts leading to better
healthcare.

Original work on the topics mentioned above are invited for poster presentation. Abstract of the original work not exceeding 200 words typed in Times New Roman 12 shall be sent by mail to phyto2010@carism.sastra.edu on or before 05th January, 2010. Selected participants shall be informed b y email b efore 1 7th January 2 010.
