About NAARM
The National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM), established in 1976, at Hyderabad, is one of the constituent institutes of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi, for promoting management of agricultural research, education and extension.
Course Highlights
The course is conceived and designed in response to the felt need for professional managers across the agricultural value chain. The program aims at:
Understanding the basic facets of management and the unique needs of the agribusiness and allied sectors
Utilizing management concepts and techniques together with the existing base knowledge of Agriculture and arriving at customized solutions, best-suited to specific industry situations
Transforming students into dynamic business leaders and entrepreneurs dedicated to agribusiness
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Agriculture) - PGDMA
ELIGIBILITY: The minimum qualification for admission into the programmes is a
FOUR YEAR bachelor’s degree in any of the following subjects from any Agricultural University or Institution recognized by the ICAR/UGC:
1. Agriculture
2. Agri-Business Management/Commercial Agriculture and Agri-Business Management/Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation
3. Agricultural Engineering
4. Agricultural Information Technology
5. Bioinformatics
6. Biotechnology
7. Dairy Technology
8. Energy and Environmental Engineering
9. Fisheries
10. Food Technology/Food Process Engineering
11. Forestry
12. Horticulture
13. Sericulture
14. Veterinary Science
The students who are going to complete their degree by July, 2010 are also eligible to apply.
Teaching Methods
Teaching methodology emphasizes experiential learning, holistic approach, application orientation and problem-solving skills through interactive lectures, class room discussions, student presentations, case studies, role plays, simulations, web-casting and specialized modules with leading international faculty.
Admission Process
Applicants have to appear for written entrance examination, “NAARMAT 2010” on 07 March, 2010 at different centres. The admission fee for NAARMAT 2010 is Rs. 1000 (Rs. 500 for SC/ST/PH) and can be paid through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of “ICAR UNIT-NAARM” payable at Hyderabad. The application to NAARMAT 2010 can be submitted on-line at http://specialtest.in/naarmat2010 from 01 January, 2010 to 31 January, 2010. After submitting the application on-line, hard-copy of the application along with photographs and demand draft should be sent to NAARMAT 2010, Post Box Number 4334, Kalkaji Head Post Office, New Delhi 110 019, latest by 05 February, 2010. Candidates will be shortlisted for Group discussion/Personal Interview (GD/PI) to be held at NAARM, Hyderabad during Mid April, 2010 based on NAARMAT score. The final list of candidates for admission into PGDMA program will be posted at www.naarm.ernet.in and http://specialtest.in/naarmat2010. The academic session will start in July, 2010.
